Tomorrow starts a New Year......

Tomorrow starts a new year. Can you believe it. This year has passed by so fast.
My children are a year older, and I see great things going on. This year I am not going to try to do things myself. I am going to choose God to help me.

Along with that I am painting and doing the things I love.

May God bless all my wonderful blog friends in the up coming year.

Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and found some wooden, unfinished nesting dolls. I have always liked these little, unique dolls. I didn't want them to be the traditional kind. I don't think I could have painted them that way. But I love Shabby Chic look so I painted them with that kind of look. I think they turned out pretty good for my first attempt.

My children loved playing with them. Unstacking ... stacking... unstacking... stacking... you get the picture. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I hope the New Year brings you many wonderful blessings.

CHRISTMAS ... CHRISTMAS is almost here....

5 days till Christmas... I got my packages mailed today to Alabama. So they are sure to get there on time. I painted this established sign for my sister-n-law. I thought it turned out quite well. I have a friend that writes really pretty, and I usually am the one that paints the flowers. But this time I painted the words, and I think it turned out quite well.. Don't you think?

Hannah is my niece, and I wanted to paint her name for her wall. I love the zebra stripe letters.

I won this lovely little dress from doris marie. Check out her stuff at dorismarieboutique.etsy.com
(This is not the best picture of Mollie. She would not let me fix her hair cute, and she really wanted to wear this dress to school.) Doris... I got so many complements on the dress. SO Cute!!!

Another coke bottle....

The rug rats and I on a hay ride and out singing Christmas carols with our church..What a lovely time we had....

Merry Christmas to everyone in blog land... May you have a blessed holiday and a wonderful New Year.

I finally have something to add !!!!

With teaching school, taking kids to soccer practice, coaching Jr. High cheerleaders, and watching my son playing football, I have little time for my crafts.

Crafting gives a sense of peace. Doing your own thing, creating your own world.

This is what I got to do one evening when I had a spare 30 minutes.

Before school started, I was asked to paint a old chalk board in our teacher's lounge. So of course, I said yes. At the time I thought I was crazy. I was spending more time in there painting than getting my classroom ready. However, everything came together as usual. I'm glad I did it. It turned out great. My inspiration came from a Mary Engelbreit teacher's planning book.

My son participated in a food show for 4H today. We were to bring a gift for the four judges. At the last minute, I purchased 4 jars from Wally World. I cut some of my scrapbook paper and glued it on. Threw on a few embellishments and it was done. Added some candy and I think it turned out pretty good.

I am joining ME Monday over at Cherry Chick... check it out here!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

October 5 is my birthday. Yes I will be.... wait, I'm not telling my age. I have taken the day off from work for just a me day. I'm thinking about spending my day in the craft room....

Do you remember your birthday parties when you were young? I remember one where the movie ET and Annie had came out at the same time. My nephew (4 years younger than me) and I had gotten to see both movies. I loved Annie, and he loved ET. Well, at my birthday party I had gotten all kinds of Annie goodies. But the one thing that stands out in my mind is the album I received with all the songs from the movie. I played that record over and over. Now we are in an age of Ipods. Kids don't even remember records or cassettes. I did ask my kids in class if they new what a typewriter looked liked. A few had seen one. Wow, I must be getting really old... Three more years and I will be hitting the 40 mark. Oops, I told my age!!!

Thank you Lord for allowing me to have 37 wonderful years!!

Homecoming 2010

At the school where I work, I get the privilege to not only
work there, but I also went to school there from Kindergarten
to 12th grade. This year, homecoming fell during the first of September.

As everyone prepares, it is time for mums to be made.

The biggest honor came when my daughter was named to the
Kinder Court. My son was on it last year.

Before I know it, she will be a senior. But until then, I'm going to enjoy every MOMENT.

Here she was during the Homecoming Pep Rally.
The gym looked so beautiful.

My home room is 5th grade, and we always make a wagon float.
The theme this year was about dreams.
We built a castle that said, "In the enchanted land of the Bobcats, dreams
and victories do come true."
We won first place for the wagons.
Yippeee...

Until next year......
