I finally have something to add !!!!

With teaching school, taking kids to soccer practice, coaching Jr. High cheerleaders, and watching my son playing football, I have little time for my crafts.

Crafting gives a sense of peace. Doing your own thing, creating your own world.

This is what I got to do one evening when I had a spare 30 minutes.

Before school started, I was asked to paint a old chalk board in our teacher's lounge. So of course, I said yes. At the time I thought I was crazy. I was spending more time in there painting than getting my classroom ready. However, everything came together as usual. I'm glad I did it. It turned out great. My inspiration came from a Mary Engelbreit teacher's planning book.

My son participated in a food show for 4H today. We were to bring a gift for the four judges. At the last minute, I purchased 4 jars from Wally World. I cut some of my scrapbook paper and glued it on. Threw on a few embellishments and it was done. Added some candy and I think it turned out pretty good.

I am joining ME Monday over at Cherry Chick... check it out here!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

October 5 is my birthday. Yes I will be.... wait, I'm not telling my age. I have taken the day off from work for just a me day. I'm thinking about spending my day in the craft room....

Do you remember your birthday parties when you were young? I remember one where the movie ET and Annie had came out at the same time. My nephew (4 years younger than me) and I had gotten to see both movies. I loved Annie, and he loved ET. Well, at my birthday party I had gotten all kinds of Annie goodies. But the one thing that stands out in my mind is the album I received with all the songs from the movie. I played that record over and over. Now we are in an age of Ipods. Kids don't even remember records or cassettes. I did ask my kids in class if they new what a typewriter looked liked. A few had seen one. Wow, I must be getting really old... Three more years and I will be hitting the 40 mark. Oops, I told my age!!!

Thank you Lord for allowing me to have 37 wonderful years!!
