Wow, How Time Flies

Boy has time flew lately. With teaching school and trying to do a few Christmas gifts and other stuff, I hardly have time to get on my blog. I thought I would post some things that I have been doing.

Some more darling clothespin dolls

Here are few of my new dolls. I have them posted on my Etsy site. I just love making them. The one with the yellow dress is my favorite.

Clothespin dolls

Here are my beauties. This was the first time I have ever made clothespin dolls. I made them for my daughter's birthday party as presents for the little girls. I think they turned out quite cute even if my camera didn't do them justice. I have a fancy camera and do not know how to take very good pictures.

Joshua 1:9 nursery painting

I had a request to paint a sign for a young lady that was going to be keeping a foster child. I thought this an appropriate scripture that she picked out. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for your God is with you wherever you go!" Joshua 1:9

How sweet is that. I totally love how this painting turned out.

New mixed media art

I've been playing with some mixed media art. I had two boards I had painted on and messed up my painting. I covered the painting with paper from a book and painted over it. The paper gave it a textured look. Diffidently different, but I like it.

My Garden and A Painting Boo-Boo

My summer has not gone just like I planned. Partly because of me... Yap.. I confess. I've been lazy. The one wonderful thing about being a teacher is having the summers off. I planned on going to the basketball gym and working with my son since he will be a freshman next year and is 6'2". There is potential there. Not bragging.. LOL... Also I planned on reading a lot with my 2 younger kids. We have been reading buy not a lot like I wanted to.

My garden is said this year. I have just planted morning glories everywhere. A cheap way to get a lot of flowers. Just there is no variety. Last year, my plants were looking so good. My husband is going back to school for nursing, so our money situation is low. Plus, we have been having over 100 degree temperatures. It is burning up everything and we have had NO RAIN. I'm living in the desert!!!

Here is this year. My kids and I painted on some boards to add to the fence to give it some color.


















My dear sweet sister-in-law asked me to paint a sign for her. Her son-in-law wanted to play a joke on his wife who is due to have a boy. She told him he could name their son. Well as a joke, he is going to tell her he is naming him Cowboy Bulldawg (Bulldawg being the Georgia Bulldogs). So here was my first attempt. Do you spot what is wrong?

















My sister - in - law was very sweet and asked if I could redo it because it was suppose to be Bulldawg not dawg. My mistake.. I do not know what I was thinking. So here is the new one and it is much better by far....

















This next one was the original one I thought I would paint on, but I didn't think the space was big enough to write everything on it.

I have a friend having her first baby. I am so excited for her. I'm not sure I like her name she picked out, but to each is on....

Is it summer yet?

School is coming to an end. I have 3 weeks and 1 1/2 day to go before school is out. The kids are ready and so am I!!! So much going on from school programs to wedding and baby showers...

I have still been painting.

Spring is around the corner...

It's FRIDAY..... Thank goodness....

Hello everyone! I'm so glad it is Friday. This week at school seemed to take FOREVER. My sixth graders at school are growing up way to fast and have so many problems that they should not have. I'm ready to sleep in in the morning. I'm going to cook a pizza for supper. The kids will be happy.

Let me introduce you to Red Rose. (My little Mollie named her that.) I wanted to make a rag doll and so this is my first attempt at one. I had a friend who made one at Christmas, and she had asked me to paint the face. So that is what started me on wanting to make one. She really was quite easy. I looked for a pattern but did not find one that I liked. So I made my own. Her hair is a little wild! Her dress wasn't quite what I wanted. I took her to school, and my kids thought I should stick pins in her...NO, she is not a voodoo doll. Mollie likes her, and my son wants a boy now. If anyone has any ideas for a boy, let me know.

At our county stock show, 4-H always asks for items donated for a silent auction. I made two signs. Here is one of the ones that I made. I never did find out what it sold for.
